Information Architecture, or IA, is an integral part of any Web site or software development project. IA is the science of creating a visual blueprint from which other aspects of the product spring. With roots in library science and software usability, it is the foundation for any good web site or software specification and is critical to plan and illustrate the product prior to actual development.

Clearly understanding both the target users and the goals of the site allow Cypress to create a user-task matrix, one of the key components of Information Architecture. Completion of this leads to the development of both the site map and storyboards.
