Website developer emerges from dot-com bust to battle Microsoft for top workers

Puget Sound Business Journal (Seattle) - by Greg Lamm Staff Writer --

Cypress Consulting founder Nate Thompson has survived the boom-and-bust cycle of the area's technology sector and emerged as the leader of a fast-growing interactive marketing and web development company.

Since launching in 2001, the Seattle company has grown from a handful of people to a stable of nearly 75 staffers and contract workers. A little more than a year after moving into office space in Seattle's Lower Queen Anne neighborhood, Cypress Consulting is scouting out new, larger digs. And the company, which provides interactive web development as well as management, strategy and marketing expertise, has built an impressive, diverse client base that includes Microsoft, Paccar, Starbucks and a host of other local and national firms.

The company also was behind last year's high-profile redesign of the Seattle Seahawks' website, and has worked for several others in the sports arena, including the National Football League's New Orleans Saints, the University of Southern California Trojans and CBS-owned CSTV, which includes a network of more than 200 college athletic websites.
