Case Study: Sitecore Content Management System Integration - Butte County

Overview:

Butte County, California, is the home of 210,500 people, living in the cities of Chico, Oroville, Gridley, Biggs, Paradise and other parts of the county. To serve this population, Butte County offers a website that provides county government resources and other information.

The website had been developed with a decentralized, static infrastructure and platform. Many different departments contribute to the site content, which was updated by the IT department because the content owners were unable to do it themselves. With so many different content owners and few content guidelines, the site structure had evolved so that the user experience was inconsistent across different areas of the site. This caused confusion and frustration among many site visitors. Butte County wanted to streamline its internal site update processes as well as create a better overall user experience on its site.

Challenge:
