As the online extension of the FOX Sports cable television channel, the site has an active audience that goes to FOXSports.com to check on scores and standings, create fantasy teams, watch video highlights and much more. Users keep up with the site’s frequent updates through a wide variety of email newsletters.

Following a change in ownership, the FOXSports.com site needed to create an entirely new web infrastructure. While doing so, it still needed to maintain the continuity of its internet products, including its robust email marketing efforts.

Challenge:

The site’s old infrastructure provided limited content management functionality. The out-of-date system was centrally managed and inflexible, no longer able to provide the structure and features that the web team desired for the site. The system also lacked integrated reporting tools and analytics. Because of these issues, FOX Sports was concerned that it was missing out on valuable online advertising revenue opportunities.
